Police Wreck Havoc In HarareShareBy A Correspondent | Traffic police have once again sparked chaos in Harare after mounting roadblocks that motorists say are causing unnecessary congestion and exposing road users to danger. Drivers accused police of creating hazardous driving conditions, saying the abrupt stopping of vehicles significantly increased the risk of rear-end collisions. There are no cones or warning signs to alert motorists. The latest complaints add to years of criticism over the manner in which traffic policing is conducted in Zimbabwe. In several reported incidents over the years, motorists have accused officers of assault, arbitrary arrests and intimidation during encounters at roadblocks.
