Citizens’ MP Martin Mureri Feeds Vulnerable Elderly Women in MasvingoShareTinashe Sambiri|Masvingo Urban legislator Advocate Martin Mureri has donated 300 kilogrammes of rice to 60 elderly women from Ward 5 as part of an initiative to assist vulnerable members of the community struggling with the high cost of living. The food distribution programme was held at the home of Ward 5 Councillor and Masvingo Deputy Mayor Daniel Mberikunashe. Beneficiaries included elderly women identified by community organisations, among them war veterans, war collaborators, women living with disabilities and others battling chronic illnesses such as stroke. In a statement Mureri said the assistance was meant for every deserving resident regardless of political background. He said beneficiaries would be identified through councillors, church leaders, community representatives and other local organisations to promote fairness and transparency.
