The Rotary Club of Tryon and Harmon Field will revive the popular festival on Saturday, Oct. 17, with a one-day event featuring a regional barbecue competition, live music, food vendors and family-friendly activities. “We are partnering with Harmon Field to bring back a smaller version of the barbecue festival,” said Anne Day, president of the Rotary Club of Tryon. “A lot of folks we’ve talked with are really excited that something is coming back, and we intend to make it really, really fun.” In addition to the barbecue competition, festivalgoers can enjoy live performances by several popular local bands throughout the afternoon and evening. Proceeds from the festival will benefit Harmon Field, the Rotary Club of Tryon’s scholarship and nonprofit grant programs, and the Tryon Arts and Crafts School.
