Punta Cana.- The Dominican Republic has taken a major step in expanding its aeronautical capabilities with the arrival of the first aircraft at the new Aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Center at Punta Cana International Airport. A JetBlue Airbus A320, registration N634JB, became the first aircraft to enter the facility, marking the beginning of operations at the aviation complex developed by Grupo Puntacana in partnership with FL Technics, a global aircraft maintenance services provider. The aircraft’s arrival also marks the center’s first operational contract, reinforcing the relationship between JetBlue and Punta Cana’s airport infrastructure. Located within the Punta Cana Free Trade Zone, the center spans approximately 115,588 square meters, with 27,000 square meters of construction. The facility will provide services such as scheduled inspections, base maintenance, component repairs, cabin modifications, and other specialized aviation work.
