NEW DELHI: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has launched an online petition urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to use his Independence Day address on August 15 to speak directly to India’s youth about education, unemployment and the rising cost of living. The CJP now says it wants to build a broader grassroots campaign around jobs, education reform and affordability, while also creating state, Lok Sabha and city-level units. Youth Demands A Clear RoadmapThe petition places the Prime Minister’s Independence Day speech at the centre of the CJP’s latest campaign. Dipke appealed to citizens to support the petition and asked the government to explain what it is doing for young Indians on education, employment and the cost of living. The organisation’s decision to launch an unemployment campaign consequently represents a significant expansion of its original agenda: from fixing examinations to questioning the larger education-to-employment pipeline.
