Deputy Malcom Ferey made the comments in reaction to the latest House Price Index report, which was published yesterday and included analysis of data across April, May and June. Additionally, overall housing market activity on a rolling four-quarter basis was 7% higher from a quarterly perspective and 23% higher than it had been a year earlier. Deputy Ferey said: “These latest figures suggest that confidence is returning to Jersey’s housing market, with both transaction volumes and overall market activity increasing significantly compared to a year ago. Deputy Ferey described the figures in the latest House Price Index as “encouraging”, adding that they “point to a more active yet stable market”. We’ve got government entities dabbling in the private market, we’ve got war elsewhere, we’ve got inflation.”
