Deep Purple and Kansas started their 2026 summer tour on Tuesday night, Aug. 4, in Raleigh. Deep Purple has sold more than 100 million albums across seven decades — a staggering achievement. Over the past decade, the band has released four straight number-one albums in Germany, racking up over two million album sales during that time. Kansas has sold over 30 million albums worldwide since releasing its debut in 1974. Three of their albums went sextuple-platinum: Leftoverture, Point of Know Return, and Best of Kansas.
