Orlie Bush, who also commented on the proposal, estimated she would pay $2,800 to Basin Recreation annually between her tax bill and $600 12-month membership to use the district’s facilities. However, McKenna and Hanson favored putting the bond measure on the ballot anyway to let Snyderville Basin residents determine their future. County Council Vice Chair Roger Armstrong similarly urged Basin Recreation leadership to lower the bond amount or abandon the proposal altogether. He also said the change may mean Basin Recreation builds only one of the facilities or downsizes both buildings to be under budget. The County Council is scheduled to hear the revised proposal on Aug. 19.
