(Maj. W. Chris Clyne, U.S. Army National Guard/Contributed)Oregon Air National Guard airmen with the 142nd Wing and 173rd Fighter Wing are being deployed to face the Grasshopper Fire. On Friday, Aug. 7, the Oregon Air National Guard activated 44 airmen to join the efforts against the Grasshopper Fire. “The Oregon National Guard embodies the very best of Oregon – service, solidarity, and an unwavering commitment to protecting our communities,” said Governor Tina Kotek. There are two additional Air National Guard teams on standby if additional boots are needed on the ground. More resources via the Oregon Army National Guard are also available to support the situation against the Grasshopper Fire.
