Paulino reminded the staff that TCCHS is resilient, and that no teacher or student is an island and going through these feelings alone. Burton found this to be a metaphor for the way teachers can treat students who may often misbehave or be disrespectful. “Excellence isn’t created by a perfect school year or a perfect season,” she reminded. Beaty invited her fellow teachers to celebrate the ordinary this year and to keep showing up with faithful consistency, as it will continue to build excellence.
