Toni Braxton has addressed recent reports regarding a significant federal tax lien, with her representatives confirming that the singer has already satisfied the debt in full.
According to documents first reported by TMZ, the IRS issued a federal tax lien against Braxton on June 22.
Neither Braxton nor her management team has provided additional details regarding the cause of the recent tax oversight.
Legal experts note that tax liens are public records used by the government to secure its interest in a person’s property when a tax debt remains unpaid.
However, once a taxpayer satisfies the amount owed, the IRS typically issues a Certificate of Release of Federal Tax Lien within 30 days of payment.
