Dehradun, August 7: The Uttarakhand government, under Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, has made significant decisions in a recent cabinet meeting aimed at enhancing public welfare, rural economy, labor rights, education, judicial infrastructure, sports, tourism, drinking water, and industrial development. The cabinet decided to bring an ordinance to amend the Uttarakhand Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017, in line with amendments made by the central government, ensuring the state’s tax system remains updated with national laws. In consideration of the interests of the Bengali-origin scheduled caste community in the Dineshpur and Shaktifarm areas, the cabinet decided to nominate members from the same community to the assistance fund management committee. The cabinet also decided to implement the government’s protocols for commissioning rural drinking water schemes and transferring them to village panchayats and village water and sanitation committees. The state government aims to accelerate public welfare, transparent administration, job creation, and inclusive development.
