The Director of Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Sam Amadi, has said the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, cannot freeze a state government account on the mere allegation of squandering resources. His allegation stemmed from the freezing of Osun State government’s account by the anti-graft agency. According to him, the shenanigans appeared that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, is using the EFCC to close in on Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke. “The EFCC cannot freeze a state government account simply on the fear of squandering or waste. It clearly appeared to be an APC strategy to close in on the Osun State governor,” he said.
