A non-governmental organization, Yiaga Africa has lamented the spate of pre-election violence ahead of August 15 governorship election in Osun State. “The level of pre-election violence leading up to the election is a huge cause for concern, particularly the reports of political abductions and loss of lives. “We wanted to draw the IGP’s attention to the state of security and the need to ensure a safe and credible election. “There are individuals who think that they have access to federal might and want to instrumentalize security agencies to undermine the elections. “That’s the kind of confidence that people want to see, because as far as we are concerned, the people of Osun State are ready to vote, but they are concerned about certain factors,” he said.
