Aizawl, Aug 7 (PTI): Influential student organisation the Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) on Friday announced that it will picket outside the Mizoram Public Service Commission (MPSC) office on August 10 to intensify its demand for structural reforms of the commission. The MZP has been demanding that the MPSC should be strengthened through structural reforms and additional manpower to improve its efficiency and credibility, the organisation’s general secretary Lalhmingsanga Chhangte said. The announcement came days after MZP functionaries held a demonstration outside the MPSC office in Aizawl on Thursday. The MZP alleged that several candidates were affected by problems arising from the One Time Registration (OTR) system. Among key demands, the organisation urged the government to undertake comprehensive reforms of the MPSC and constitute a government-appointed reform committee or commission to overhaul its functioning, according to Chhangte.
