Jorhat (Assam), Aug 7 (PTI): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday said his government will conduct a door-to-door assessment of flood damage in the four worst-hit districts from August 9 to 30. He asserted that no affected household will be left out and the government will provide maximum relief permissible as per norms. “Concluded an extensive training meeting with officials from the 4 districts affected by #AssamFloods. The chief minister maintained that the “guiding principle is clear: assess every genuine loss and provide the maximum relief permissible under existing norms”. At least 97 people have been killed and over 1.68 lakh people remained affected in the deluge, with four eastern Assam districts bearing the worst impact.
