It’s Friday in Milwaukee, and here are some things we think you should know about.
St. Hyacinth Parish Festival: Friday, Aug. 7 to Sunday, Aug. 9St. Anthony and St. Hyacinth parishes are hosting a festival with food, music, dance and Catholic celebrations, with a raffle drawing Sunday at 8:15 p.m. for a 2016 GMC pickup truck and other prizes, at 1414 W. Becher St. on Friday, Aug. 7 through Sunday, Aug. 9.
Red Magic Art Festival: Sunday, Aug. 9Celebrate Indigenous arts and culture at Jackson Park, 3580 W. Kinnickinnic River Parkway, on Sunday, Aug. 9 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The free one-day festival features live music, Native vendors and artists, food, games, face painting and free art activities for all ages.
Bonus: On-Sight Pop-Up: Saturday, Aug. 8 and Sunday Aug. 9Ray-Ban and Clicks are providing free vision screening and prescription glasses for children 5 and up on Saturday, Aug. 8 and Sunday, Aug. 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Silver Spring Neighborhood Center, 5460 N. 64th Street.
