From Berks County Area Agency on AgingThe Berks County Area Agency on Aging (BCAAA) will celebrate the successful implementation of its enhanced Home-Delivered Meals Program with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, Aug. 10, at 11:30 a.m., at the Reading Senior Center, 40 N. 9th St., Reading. The ceremony recognizes the successful collaboration between the Berks County Area Agency on Aging, Berks Encore, Boyertown Area Multi-Service, the Hispanic Center of Reading and Berks County, and Helping Harvest Fresh Food Bank to strengthen nutrition services for older adults throughout Berks County. The Home-Delivered Meals Program, which transitioned to frozen meals delivered twice weekly earlier this summer, provides eligible homebound older adults with nutritious, dietitian-approved meals. The Home-Delivered Meals Program remains a vital initiative supporting the aging community, with the primary funding provided by the Berks County Area Agency on Aging. The Home-Delivered Meals Program is available to Berks County residents age 60 and older who have difficulty preparing meals or leaving their homes.
