Officers from the West Yorkshire Police Wildlife and Rural Crime Team, alongside the Shipley Neighbourhood Policing Team, said the stallion had been reported stolen in 2018.
Information provided by members of the public helped officers trace the horse, which has now been returned to its legitimate owner, bringing the long-running case to a successful conclusion.
Police have not disclosed where the horse was found, meaning it is unclear what connection the recovery had to Shipley beyond the involvement of local officers.
What police have saidOn social media, a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Following some good community intelligence officers located this stallion that had been stolen in Scotland in 2018.
