It placed our updated project design before state and federal agencies, stakeholders, and the public for review and discussion. NorthMet has a long history, but this submission was not simply advancing the project as it once existed. Our responsibility has been to use that work to improve the project, not simply move it through the permitting process. The project is rooted in a landscape that has supported mining for generations. Much of the project would be developed on or near lands previously impacted by mining and supported by existing industrial infrastructure.
