On July 28, officers were called to Chalvington Field, Seaford, where a victim was found with injuries including a wound to her hand. Police said the victim received medical treatment and specialist support from officers at the scene, while further units searched for the suspect and the weapon involved. Police dog Ava - an 18-month-old German Shepherd - was brought in to assist and took her handler into a wooded area, where she located the weapon in an area of dense vegetation. It was seized for forensics and police said PD Ava was rewarded with her favourite rope ball. Jason Tilly, 35, of Chalvington Close, Seaford, was also located and arrested.
