On Tuesday, August 4, police executed a warrant at an address in Oriental Place, Brighton. During the search of the property, officers seized a number of items including four mobile phones, and a quantity of cannabis. A 21-year-old man was also located at the property and arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug. The following day, August 5, Mohammed Macallin, 21, of Barnfield Road, Plumstead, Greenwich, London, was charged with being concerned in the supply of heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis, seven counts of breaching a slavery and trafficking risk or prevention order in connection with the investigation. He appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court later the same day and was remanded into custody until his plea hearing on September 2.
