Sam Smith on Their New Album, “Hazel Eyes”
['The New Yorker', 'David Remnick']
The New Yorker
Sam Smith burst onto the music scene in 2014 with their début album, “In the Lonely Hour.”
Smith’s early hits were ballads of heartbreak and unrequited love, so their new album marks something of a change: it’s an album of love songs, requited in this case.
Smith talked about the writing process that led to “Hazel Eyes,” which comes out August 21st, with the New Yorker Radio Hour producer Jeffrey Masters.
