Rochester neighbors say overgrown weeds on private property are a health hazard

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A homeowner’s overgrown weeds are turning a Rochester neighborhood into a jungle. One neighbor called News10NBC after years of asking the homeowner and the city to take care of the weeds. Derleth showed Erin multiple areas where the weeds grow over the fence onto her property. But if the property is privately owned, the city can’t come onto property without the owner’s permission, leaving Derleth and the other neighbors in the area stuck.
