As Pennsylvania's largest state park, Pymatuning has plenty to offer hikers. Pymatuning's many trails cover several miles around the central lake, with a helpful diversity of lengths to choose from. The 4.6-mile Spillway Trail is the best hike for accessing the Linesville Spillway, while also getting premium views of the lake. Of course, with Pennsylvania's largest lake at its center, Pymatuning State Park is also superb for boating, paddling, fishing, and even swimming at its three public beaches. If that's still too rustic for you, Pymatuning State Park is about 40 miles from Youngstown (an affordable Midwest city that's one of the top destinations to retire), where you'll find a variety of accommodations.
