Guests at the opening event included former Scottish rugby internationals Alastair McHarg and Jim Telfer, Provost Anthea Dickson, and honorary club members such as former boxer and actor Rab Affleck. Folk singer Jimmy McGregor also attended, presenting the club with framed sketches illustrating scenes from Burns’ poetry.
