Culm Valley Care Home, in Cullompton, invited South West Water to carry out an assessment of the site, which included installing water-saving devices and identifying plumbing losses that were increasing water use.
The programme forms part of South West Water's water efficiency initiative, which offers businesses support to reduce water usage and lower their bills.
Culm Valley Care Home provides residential and nursing care for up to 61 elderly and disabled residents, with nurses on duty 24 hours a day.
Megan Williams, water efficiency delivery manager for South West Water, said: "This is a good example of how a site with high daily water use can achieve significant savings through relatively simple interventions.
South West Water said it provides water efficiency visits throughout the year to help businesses reduce their water consumption.
