One thousand stuffed backpacks given away in BrainerdCHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- As school gets underway, local organizations are helping students go back with what they need. The Nehemiah Project, Purpose Outreach Center, and LAUNCH’s Kitchen Incubator along with other partners gave away a thousand stuffed backpacks today. Kelly Andrews of the Nehemiah Project said, “So many of our children go to school unprepared. They come without the necessary school supplies that they need those first couple weeks of school. Andrews says that it’s her goal to have the Nehemiah Project host donation drives on a monthly basis.
