The epicenter of the Democratic surge in Hamilton County was in East Ridge. Larry Grohn did not seek re-election on school board, and Mike Chauncey was seeking re-election to the Hamilton County Commission. Republicans still hold a narrow 6 to 5 majority on both the county commission and school board.
