Flock Safety builds technology designed to “connect communities, businesses, and public safety so incidents can be understood clearly, and decisions can be made on facts.” They also stated, “LPR cameras do not take video and do not use facial recognition.” All data obtained by Flock Cameras is by default deleted after 30 days unless law or an authorized investigation requires otherwise. A spokesperson from Flock Safety confirmed that once data is deleted from the system, it can’t be recovered. The Minnesota BCA is also required to maintain a list of law enforcement agencies that use ALPRs and include the locations of the devices.
