The production, Soul Jam: Madhubala, The Shadows Behind the Spotlight, was the third presentation by Soul Jam, a Seattle-based artistic initiative founded by Yash Patel and Arunima Agarwal. Soul Jam seeks to bridge that gap. The Artists Behind Soul JamThe Madhubala production brought together Seattle-area artists who, like Soul Jam’s founders, balance professional careers with creative pursuits. After attending an earlier Soul Jam production, Mahajan was drawn to its use of music as part of a larger narrative. Through music and storytelling, Soul Jam is attempting to make those stories not merely something to remember, but something to experience anew.
