FDNY quickly subdues all-hands house fire in Canarsie

Fire marshals are investigating the cause of a late-night fire that burned through a Canarsie home on Aug. 6.
The blaze broke out in the rear of a three-story, two-family house on East 81st Street, near Avenue K, at around 11:30 p.m, per the FDNY.
“I was laying in bed and I started smelling smoke and I saw flashing lights right after,” said neighbor Rose Colon.
“I just got in my car to head to work when I saw smoke coming from the building and the firefighters started arriving, it was very chaotic,” she said.
FDNY fire marshals will investigate the cause of the blaze.
