In response, Forth Valley College is encouraging school leavers to explore vocational courses that offer practical experience in areas less likely to be automated by AI, such as engineering, construction, health and social care, and modern apprenticeships. The study also found that AI is already a major presence in teenagers’ daily lives. Most respondents said they use AI tools at least two or three times a week, with many turning to them for research, study support, revision, and creative inspiration. More than half (54 per cent) viewed AI as a career opportunity, though 56 per cent were concerned about its potential impact on job prospects. However the survey also highlighted changing attitudes toward education, with 53 per cent of teenagers viewing college as the best route to an 'AI-proof' career.
