The Tirry Bridge on the A838 near Lairg has reopened following a strengthening upgrade undertaken by Boralex, developer of the Sallach Wind Farm. Work to upgrade a bridge in Sutherland to enable it to carry wind farm construction traffic has been completed. Boralex intends to route construction traffic for the wind farm through Lairg on the A836 and then onto the A838, and over the Tirry Bridge. A Boralex spokesperson said: “The Tirry Bridge on the A838 has reopened after Boralex and its contractors completed a strengthening upgrade with minimal delays. However Steven MacLean, the chairperson of Lairg Community Council has praised the way the bridge upgrade was carried out.
