Highland Council has placed oil containment booms around the wreck as a precaution to help prevent any fuel or oil from entering the surrounding waters. A Highland Council spokesperson said the vessel, a converted former fishing boat, sank within the harbour overnight. They added that the cause of the sinking had not yet been established, and further investigation was required.
