The Department of Health will host its free ‘Rooted in Support’ Breastfeeding Awareness Week community event at Victoria Park on Saturday. A Government spokesperson said, “The Department of Health is encouraging families, caregivers, and community members to join us for the Breastfeeding Awareness Week 2026 community event, Rooted in Support, taking place tomorrow, Saturday, August 8, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Victoria Park, Hamilton. “This free, family‑friendly gathering will offer educational mini‑sessions, wellness activities, vendor engagement, and opportunities to connect with breastfeeding support services. Attendees can also take part in the used breast pump donation drive, with accepted items including Spectra pumps, Medela Symphony pumps, manual pumps [such as Haakaa], flanges, and collection bottles. The Government spokesperson said, “All are welcome to attend this uplifting morning dedicated to breastfeeding awareness, family wellbeing, and community connection.”
