CMV Rollover Carrying Hazardous Material Closes OK-47 Near Leedey for Nearly Eight Hours Thursday

Leedey, OK – A commercial motor vehicle rollover carrying hazardous material shut down a portion of Oklahoma Highway 47 near Leedey for nearly eight hours Thursday.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, all lanes of OK-47 were closed in the vicinity of North 2020 Road, approximately two miles south and three miles west of Leedey, following a single vehicle commercial motor vehicle (CMV) rollover.
The highway was closed beginning at 11:00 a.m. and reopened at 6:55 p.m., for a total closure time of 7 hours and 55 minutes.
Roger Mills County Emergency Management said the commercial vehicle was transporting hazardous material.
As of publication, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol has not released an official collision report, and the cause of the rollover remains under investigation.
