The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) says an investigation into a police shooting in southwest Calgary is still ongoing. CPS responded to a home in the 1000 block of Bridlemeadows Manor S.W. As the man tried to approach the officers, they released a police service dog, fired a 40-mm less-lethal impact weapon, and a service pistol in close succession. Following this, the officers immediately provided first aid before paramedics responded and took the man to hospital in critical condition. ASIRT says that Calgary police have continued a separate investigation into the matter and are pursuing criminal charges against the man in connection with events leading up to the shooting.
