One driver was airlifted to a Nashville hospital Thursday morning after two tractor-trailers collided on I-24 in Christian County. Investigators said 51-year-old Nakia Stump of Hopkins, Missouri, was driving westbound behind another tractor-trailer operated by 39-year-old Reginald Hill of Acworth, Georgia. Hill was slowing in the right lane because of traffic conditions when, according to witness statements, Stump failed to recognize the slowing traffic. After the initial impact, Stump’s tractor-trailer continued into the left lane, where it jackknifed and came to rest blocking both westbound lanes of the interstate. The crash temporarily blocked both westbound lanes of the interstate while deputies investigated and crews worked to clear the scene.
