Heat advisories remain in effect until 8 p.m. Friday for the Albuquerque metro area, nearby parts of the Rio Grande Valley and around the Four Corners area. Showers and storms have developed over parts of eastern and southwestern New Mexico. No advisories are in effect for New Mexico, but smoke may be thicker near the Colorado border.
