CAROLINA SHORES, NC (WWAY) — A legal dispute over a proposed housing development on the former Carolina Shores Golf and Country Club property has come to an end, at least for now.
A lawsuit filed earlier this year against the Town of Carolina Shores has been voluntarily dismissed after town leaders rejected a request to rezone the former golf course for a 120-home subdivision on 34 acres that included stormwater infrastructure.
Property owner Philippe Bureau said the company has decided to move forward with a different development plan that would not require a rezoning request.
It’s just now going to be 110 one-acre lots on the property.”
Bureau said the next step is to present the proposal to the Carolina Shores Planning Board, and the Carolina Shores Town Commissioners for consideration.
