Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) ended days of drama on Friday by committing his vote to confirm Todd Blanche as attorney general. But in a podcast released on Friday, Meidas Touch's Scott MacFarlane and legal expert Katie Phang zeroed in on a peculiar justification Cassidy gave in his speech announcing his decision — one that appears to be completely made up. In fact, said MacFarlane, "I have never once heard Todd Blanche express an iota of concern about the January 6 pardons. I have heard Todd Blanche, at the CPAC conference — the Conservative Political Action Conference — earlier this year, triumphantly champion the January 6 pardons, say he deserves credit for them." So "Todd Blanche is fully cognizant of everything that is happening, and it is all happening because Donald Trump has christened it and blessed it and wants it to happen."
