Eight felony charges were filed Tuesday in Lee County against an employee at a high school in Shabbona that accuse her of having an inappropriate relationship with a student. According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Payton turned herself in to authorities Wednesday and was released in accordance with the Illinois SAFE-T Act. Indian Creek School District is cooperating fully with law enforcement and the appropriate authorities as they conduct their investigation,” Willis said.
