The Telangana government has accorded administrative sanction for release of Rs 20.96 crore towards supply of drinking water in 108 habitations across Mulugu and Mahabubabad districts under the Mission Bhagiratha scheme.
The panchayat raj department issued GO-Ms-428 on Friday approving a proposal submitted by the engineer-in-chief of Mission Bhagiratha.
The works are aimed at strengthening safe drinking water supply facilities in villages facing water scarcity.
These include the construction of overhead service reservoirs, laying of pipelines, drilling of borewells and creation of other supporting infrastructure to ensure reliable drinking water supply.
The initiative is part of the state’s commitment under Mission Bhagiratha to provide safe drinking water to every household.
