Clay County recorded the highest voter participation in the Upper Cumberland during the August 6 election with more than half of its registered voters casting ballots. Unofficial election results said the average voter turnout across 10 of the 11 counties in the Upper Cumberland reached 36.03 percent. Pickett County reported 36.04% while White County reported a turnout of 35.99 percent and Fentress County recorded 35.60 percent. DeKalb County finished with 34.27 percent and Overton County saw 33.66 percent participation. Putnam County recorded 33.04 percent while Jackson County finished at 31.67 percent, unofficially.
