New padel courts are to be served at a former Ennis abattoir following a successful planning application to Clare County Council. Sean Hehir has been given the green light to develop a gym at the site on the Tulla Road, Lifford including the creation of four outdoor padel courts. A previous planning application for five courts at the same site were withdrawn last year. “By introducing a gym facility and padel tennis courts, the application provides a complementary mix of commercial, leisure, and recreational uses. Importantly, the proposed development does not result in an over-concentration of any single use on the mixed-use zoned site.
