Carnivals, seahorse, and literary festival get funding boost

Seven Isle of Wight projects have benefited from the latest round of grants from WightAID, with a total of £12,950 distributed across a range of community schemes.
The largest single grant of £5,000 was awarded to the Isle of Wight Literary Festival’s Schools’ Programme, which brings children’s authors into schools.
Dawn Haig-Thomas, director of the schools’ programme, said: "This grant is vital to us.
Disability access charity Isle Access received £4,300 toward a new Tomcat Tricycle.
The funding will pay for equipment for new under-eight and under-ten teams, helping to grow the club from the grassroots upwards.
