7-year-old drowns in Lake McConaughy, investigation ongoingOGALLALA, Neb. (KLKN) — The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission confirmed the drowning of a 7-year-old boy at Lake McConaughy State Recreation Area yesterday, Aug. 6. Around 9:30 p.m., two children from Ogallala were found in the water, unresponsive. The other child, a 5-year-old girl, was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. Nebraska Game and Parks said they are keeping their thoughts with the family during the difficult time.
