Burnham and Highbridge Town Band will be striking up the music at the Puriton Flower Show today (Saturday, August 8th), bringing summer tunes to the village event. The band will perform between 2pm and 4pm at Puriton Village Hall on Riverton Road, where the traditional Flower Show and Craft Fair is set to draw crowds throughout the afternoon. The community event showcases local horticulture, baking, crafts and family activities, with hundreds of entries expected across flowers, floral art, home‑grown fruit and vegetables, cooking and hand‑crafted items. Visitors will also be able to enjoy cream teas and refreshments served by local groups, including the Women’s Institute, adding to the friendly, village‑hall atmosphere that has made the show a long‑standing local favourite.
