The newly released images offer a first look at Julie Hesmondhalgh, Helena Wilson, Ellie McKay, Liv Andrusier and Lizzie Back in character ahead of the prequel’s arrival on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this Christmas. Writer and showrunner Heidi Thomas said filming the festive special during summer had become something of a tradition, joking that the production welcomed “the snow-machine back to the Nonnatus House set like an old friend”. Call the Midwife: Sisters in Arms has been created and written by Heidi Thomas and produced by Neal Street for the BBC.
